The hermans have given Missooula more than just the temptation to begin a sentence without capitalization. Their fans have a legend to follow, an evolution not only to witness, but in which to participate. With the near-behanding of drummer Derk Schmidt last year, their first tour into the wilds beyond Helena was cancelled. Fortunately, the amphibian Schmidt has regenerated his percussive digits and the band is ready to get on with it's life.

The weeklong tour of the Pacific Northwest, which includes shows in Seattle, Portland, Olympia and possibly Bellingham, will be a crash course in life on the road for the hermans. Guitarist and lead singer David Jones reports that the band is "fucking psyched" to begin the tour, especially on the heels of a send off party with the International Playboys and Retardo Montelban.
The band is broadening it's horizons in several ways, from releasing a new album last June to closing the deal on their soon-to-be-released reality book. Running Press, an East Coast publisher, is putting together a volume based on Jones' journal entries that will chronicle the struggles a small-town band faces on the road to greater exposure. While it may not be a live concert video, local music lovers will want to be at the loft for a chance to be immortalized in print.
